Garment Construction
Students will learn essential garment construction techniques, as well as foundational pattern drafting skills. By the end of the course each student will have completed a sample book of sewing techniques, and basic pattern blocks in their size (skirt and bodice). If time permits, students may also have the opportunity to work on a project of their choice, based on their pattern blocks.

Garment Construction Instructor
A graduate of the Fashion Design program at Pacific Design Academy, Maya is a fashion designer with a passion for alternative aesthetics. Her style is unique, embracing bold silhouettes that highlight femininity in the wearer. She has showcased her striking designs at various fashion shows in Victoria, bringing a unique and artistic vision to the runway. Maya’s expertise and creative approach will inspire you throughout the course!

- Dressmaker’s Pins, Pin-cushion, Thread- Gutermann: (4) polyester;
- Fabric and Paper Scissors, Tailor’s Chalk, Seam Ripper, Thread Snips;

- I appreciate that we covered a lot of material and skills because I now feel like I have a basic understanding of many different techniques that I can use to move forward.
