We blend creativity, community, and career readiness to shape designers who make an impact—locally and globally. Learn what makes us unlike any other design school.
At Pacific Design Academy, the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff is a top priority. We are committed to maintaining a secure and respectful environment where creativity and learning can thrive. Our campus follows all applicable WorkSafeBC standards and includes regular health and safety training, first aid access, and clear emergency procedures. Whether working in studios, computer labs, or on set, students are supported by guidelines designed to reduce risk and ensure a safe learning space for all.
We understand that balancing academic, creative, and personal life can sometimes feel overwhelming. While Pacific Design Academy does not offer in-house mental health services, students are encouraged to explore local and online resources to support their well-being. We promote general awareness around mental health and aim to foster a respectful, understanding learning environment. Students seeking additional support can reach out to local providers or crisis lines as needed.
All students residing in British Columbia for longer than six months are required to enroll in the provincial Medical Services Plan (MSP). MSP provides access to basic medical services, including doctor visits and emergency care. If you are new to BC or an international student, we recommend applying for MSP as soon as possible to avoid gaps in coverage. Our staff can assist students with enrollment questions and connect them to health services in the Victoria area.
PDA supports harm reduction and community safety. We recognize the opioid crisis affecting communities across BC and encourage students to stay informed. Naloxone kits, which can reverse the effects of opioid overdose, are available for free from many pharmacies and health agencies in Victoria. We recommend that students, especially those attending events or working in nightlife settings, learn how to use a Naloxone kit. Our team can help you access training or connect with local organizations offering overdose prevention resources.
