Student Information

At Pacific Design Academy, we believe education is more than just classes and assignments — it’s about feeling supported, connected, and at home in Victoria. Our Student Life resources are here to help you thrive, both inside and outside the classroom.

Housing Resources

While PDA does not provide on-campus housing, we understand that finding suitable accommodation can be challenging. Here are some helpful tips and resources for securing housing.

Local community integration supports

At PDA, we’re committed to helping students feel connected and confident as they settle into life in Victoria.

Daily Life in Victoria

Getting around Victoria is simple with BC Transit’s reliable bus system. Students can apply for a U-Pass through their student ID, which provides discounted unlimited bus travel. Your PDA student card can also be used for various student discounts around the city. Opening a Canadian bank account is recommended for longer-term students—most major banks like RBC, TD, and CIBC offer student accounts with no monthly fees.

Information for international students

Victoria is a safe, diverse city and a popular destination for international students. If you're studying at PDA on a student visa, you may be eligible to work part-time during your studies and full-time during scheduled breaks. Health insurance through BC’s Medical Services Plan (MSP) is mandatory after your first 90 days in the province. International students should also ensure their study permit stays valid and keep a copy of their enrollment letter on hand when needed for visa or work eligibility questions.
