Fashion Illustration 1

Students explore fundamentals of fashion illustration: basic drawing skills, the Fashion Croquis and manipulating its proportions, demonstrating how garments move on the figure, fabric sketching techniques, and maintaining a Fashion sketchbook.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, the successful student will have reliably demonstrated the ability to:

- Describe different uses of illustration in the fashion industry.

- Draw a basic fashion figure freehand in front, profile, and ¾ views.

- Correctly portray weight distribution, use the balance line, and show how garments fall on a model.

- Mount work for display and portfolio presentation
