Residential Interior Design & Technology Online

Full-Time, One-Year (45 weeks), diploma program.

Each day of our lives, much of what we do and feel is directly related to our interior environment. It influences the way we live, work, and interact with others. If you enjoy creating functionally beautiful spaces and using a variety of unique materials, this residential interior design & technology program is for you. Intake dates vary.

Why you should study with us:

The Residential Interior Design & Technology Online Diploma program is an online program designed to provide learners with the theoretical framework and industry-specific skills required to begin an exciting, creative and challenging career in interior design. Professional interior designers must be able to work with client requirements, the limitations of the existing space, the budget and time restrictions. This program covers: interior design trends and history; elements and principles of design; building construction and systems; presenting design solutions in 2-D and 3-D; how to work with clients, from pricing and contracts to purchasing and scheduling; use of colour, furniture, lighting and more.

• Online learning gives students more flexibility as to when and where they study.

• Cost – An online course normally costs less than a traditional course.

• Quality of content – Throughout an online course students have access to a quality of study material and lectures that may be out of reach for many. Some students have anxiety issues with public setting like traditional classrooms and this can be avoided in an online course. Online students have plenty of opportunities to interact with their peers in a safe setting.

• More comfortable learning environment – Commercials that feature online students studying in their pajamas only skim the surface of one of the benefits of online education: no physical class sessions. Students listen to lectures and complete assignments sent to them electronically with no need to fight traffic, leave work early for class, or miss important family time.

• Convenience and flexibility – Online courses give students the opportunity to plan study time around the rest of their day, instead of the other way around. Students can study and work at their convenience. Course material is always accessible online, making special library trips unnecessary. All of these benefits help students balance work and family commitments with their education.

• Continue in your profession – Even if someone aims to complete a degree, it may not mean they wish to leave their current job. For many students today, increasing college costs mandate they continue working while in school. The previously mentioned flexibility of online programs enables students to keep working while also pursuing academic credentials.

• Improve your technical skills – Even the most basic online course requires the development of new computer skills as students learn to navigate different learning management systems (LMS) and programs. The participation skills students learn during online courses transfer to many professions, including creating and sharing documents, incorporating audio/video materials into assignments, completing online training sessions, and more.
