Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Photoshop is the industry standard Graphic Design software that is used to modify, manipulate, and enhance photographic images for traditional commercial printing or online usage.

This hands-on course introduces students to the capabilities of Adobe Photoshop. Students learn the skills required to manipulate photographic images. The course also introduces basic procedures for managing a production workflow as well as digital asset management.

Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the technical and professional components of Adobe Photoshop pertaining to metadata, archiving, professional retouching and design elements.

Course Length: 6 weeks, 36 hours

Course Outline:

Class 1:
Importing photos, cataloging, archiving.

Class 2:
Lightroom personalization and archiving .

Class 3:
RAW VS JPEG.

Class 4:
Resolution, Sizing, Cropping, Printing .

Class 5:
Basic retouching, mark-up layers.

Class 6:
Midterm test.

Class 7:
Basic retouching continued .

Class 8:
Basic layer Masks and Adjustment layers .

Class 9:
Sharpen, Noise reduction .

Class 10:
Layers, clipping masks, selection tools .

Class 11:
Image selection, replacing backgrounds.

Class 12:
Final test.
