Adobe Illustrator II

Having completed the Adobe Illustrator 1 course, or for those with a good understanding of the program, this course will continue to explore the many art & design capabilities of Adobe Illustrator.

Focusing on 2 in-class assignments, demonstrations and practical exercises will be covered.

Course Length: 6 weeks, 36 hours

Symbols and the symbol sprayer tool; distortion tools.

Class 2:
Combining Complex Shapes & Strokes and Live effects and features.

Class 3:
3-D effects.

Class 4:
Perspective grid.

Class 5 :
Charts & infographics.

Class 6:
Object Mosaic.

Class 7:
Live paint, envelopes and grid tools.

Class 8:
Recolouring artwork.

Class 9:
Patterns and graphic styles.

Class 10:
Understanding Pattern Design.

Class 11:
Masks, Blends, and Blending Modes.

Class 12:
Adobe Illustrator for web design.

Alastair studied at the Alberta College of Art & Design, and his interest in other cultures led him to Berlin where he receiving his B.A. in Visual Communications from the University of the Arts. He lived in Berlin for over 20 years before returning to Victoria in 2005. His experience ranges from freelance designer to Marketing Communications Manager for multinationals in Europe including Sony’s IT division. He was responsible for managing web, print & advertising campaigns, as well as exhibitions, product packaging, POS displays, sales incentive tools and giveaways.
