Adobe Illustrator at Pacific Design Academy


Adobe Illustrator is the primary illustration tool used in professional Graphic Design. Through a series of discussions and practical exercises we will explore the principles of vector based graphics, and the concepts behind the industry standard 'PostScript' language and how it differs from Bitmap (Photoshop) imagery.

We will cover:

  • The use of Illustrator as a tracing tool
  • The navigation tools
  • Pen tool
  • Fill and Stroke
  • Circle and Box tools and variations
  • Scissors and Pathfinder tools
  • Fills: flat, gradient and pattern
  • Transformation Tools: Rotate, Scale, Reflect, and Shear
  • Brushes
  • Compound Paths
  • Masks
  • The basic use of Type
  • Building a personal monogram

Course Length
6 weeks long, 36 hours instructional time.

Course Dates: Next classes begin May 1st, 2017.

Time: 5:30-8:30pm. Days: Twice a week – Mondays & Wednesdays.

Fee: $495.00
